Jevon Elijah Burkett, 31 years old, passed away on February 14, 2024. Jevon was born and raised in Pine Bluff Arkansas to Donna Burkett of Pine Bluff and Vick Bynum of Little Rock Arkansas. Jevon was preceded in death grandfather Donley Burkett and George Bynum; grandmother- Cathleen Bynum
Jevon was a son, brother, and devoted father to his family. He cared about family and loving others as he wanted to be love. He was a hard working man working as a forklift driver, maintenance man with hope to one day be a model. During his job he was nominated as “Best Employee” He was very proud of this recognition. Jevon loved to cook, eat shrimp, crab legs, and fish. Jevon’s hobbies included making music writing beautiful poems, drawing, self-care, grilling, cooking watching his favorite anime shows and games.
Jevon had a passion for God and loved Him very much. Jevon died in Christ, giving his life over to God. He was a passionate man who loved love with a giving heart. He would give the shirt off his back. Jevon was a hard working father who wanted nothing but the best for his son.
Though he sometimes didn’t show his care, he really did care for people. He was a people person and happy go lucky person who didn’t let the care of the world get him down. He was always hopeful with high hopes, never holding grudges toward his fellow man. All he ever strives for is to love others.
Left to cherish his memory are his Son- Jaden (8yr); Mother, Donna Burkett; Father, Vick Bynum; Twin Brother, Jeremiah Burkett; Brother, Dyjwun Watson; Grandmother, Carrie Burkett; and a host of aunties, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Jevon was well taken care of by the few nurses and Dr.’s at Sentara Careplex Hospital.
A private memorial service will be held on February 23, 2024. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to his memorial service fund.
