Jimmie Furlough, born on May 29, 1946, in Washington, NC, passed away on February 5, 2025, in Virginia Beach, VA. A proud veteran, Jimmie served in the United States Army, spending several years stationed overseas in Germany. Following his military service, he dedicated 30 years to Virginia International Terminals, contributing significantly to the operations there.
Jimmie was married to Martha Jean Furlough, with whom he shared a loving partnership and family life. He is survived by his son, Jimmie Furlough II “Jamie”, who carries forward his father’s legacy of generosity and kindness. Jimmie is also survived by his sisters, Mary Jo Brewer and Patti Ann Padgett, who remember him for his humor and giving spirit.
Known for his warm heart and generous nature, Jimmie’s life was marked by his commitment to family, friends, and community. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
