Jimmy David (JD) McCutcheon Sr, 77, passed peacefully Sunday, January 31, 2021 after a massive heart attack. We would like to thank the staff at Sentara Leigh Hospital for all they did and do for all their patients. And a thank you to Jane Cordell, for being such a good friend to JD. Your kindness was appreciated. He was a Veteran who served in the Army. He was a master plumber most of his adult life. He enjoyed working, spending time with family, and helping others. Jimmy grew up in Norfolk and attended Maury High School.
JD was born in Norfolk, VA, a son of the late Talmage Andrew and Madie Watford McCutcheon of South Carolina.
He is preceded in death in addition to his parents by two brothers and sisters, Helen Linder McCutcheon, Talmage Lavon McCutcheon, Larry McCutcheon, and Gladys Lavinia Eckleberry; and daughter in law Elizabeth McCutcheon.
Surviving are his ex-wife Dawn Weiss and four children, Jimmy McCutcheon Jr, Thomas McCutcheon (Alyson Harmon), Robin McCutcheon, Susan McCutcheon Thomasson (Craig); grandchildren, Megan McCutcheon, Rachel McCutcheon, Michael Thomasson, Graham Thomasson, Maxwell McCutcheon; four brothers, William Joe (Shirley) McCutcheon, Don (Carol) McCutcheon, and Robert Neil (Brenda) McCutcheon all of Virginia; a sister-in-law, Wilma McCutcheon of Virginia; and a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Due to Covid, the family will have a private celebration of life and a service at a later date in South Carolina.
