Joan Elaine Kelly Bubbie, 75, of the 5400 block of Wesleyan Drive, died Saturday, June 26, 2010. A native of Philadelphia, PA, Joanie was the daughter of the late Elizabeth and Harry Torrante. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Dixon Kelly. Left to cherish her memories are two daughters, Karen Hollerbach and her husband Bob, and Leslie Safrit and her husband Chris and three granddaughters, Olivia, Carly, and Jessica Safrit, all of Virginia Beach; and one brother, Mark Rosen and his wife Brenda, of Lancaster, PA. Joans full life included being a Marine Corps wife for 26 years, an active member of the Marine Corps Officer Wives Club and the Thoroughgood Garden Club, and an administrator at St Leo College. Most importantly, in her later years her time was devoted to being a loving and dedicated grandmother to her three granddaughters. A celebration of her life will be held at 2pm, Thursday, July 8th, at Baylake United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project and St. Jude Childrens Hospital. Cremation Society of Virginia is assisting the family, online condolences may be made at www.cremate.org.
