Joan Motley (Born August 5th,1956 – Passed Away on December 19th,2020)

Survivors include: (Husband) Octavius (Mo) Motley, (Daughter) Octavia Motley, (Father) Willie Jamison, (Mother) Julia Jamison, (Sister) Rose, (Niece) Kia, (Nephew) Tito, and many more family members and friends.

Joan passed away the morning of December 19th, 2020. She was a long-time employee of Canon Virginia, in Newport News, Virginia.

Joan was married to Mo Motley for over 31 years, and gave birth to her daughter, Octavia Motley in Newport News, Virginia.

Joan grew up in Harlem, New York City, New York and later moved to Hempstead, Long Island, New York, where she attended a high school for the arts. Her hobbies were to paint, draw and read books.

She worked at Canon Virginia as a QA Tech for over 25 years. Her daughter works at Canon Virginia as an HR Rep, and her husband retired from Canon Virginia as a Security Officer and a Camera Department Information Rep for over 28 years. She will be missed dearly by many Canon family members.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date when it is safe to travel and gather with family members and friends. Flowers and donations can be sent at that time.
