John A. Broms, 76, passed away April 28, 2014 at his home in Virginia Beach, VA, after a battle with cancer. He was born in Minneapolis, MN, on Jan 27, 1938, and is preceded in death by his parents Ida Mae and Harvey Broms. He is survived by his wife Marsha of 30 years and six children; Timothy and Michael Broms Heather, Mary Beth Broms Etherton Michael, Theresa Krzewinski Joe, Alison Grimstead Chris, and Cyndi Ellis. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and by his younger brother, James Broms Jeanne of Minneapolis, MN and brother-in-law Mark Leslie. He served in the USN as a Chief Radioman Ret. Following his naval career he was a Realtor, and a defense contractor. He never missed a chance to socialize with friends and family. He loved a good fishing trip and taking his grandchildren to the local fishing pond. He was an expert horseshoe player and truly a jack of all trades.
There will be a celebration of his life John style on Saturday, May 3rd at his home at 5408 Blackwater Loop, Virginia Beach, VA at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of fresh cut flowers, we ask for live plants for a memory garden.
