In loving memory of John Daniel Adkins

July 13,1948 – March 30, 2024

John Daniel Adkins, 75, of Norfolk passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 30, 2024. He was born on July 13th, 1948, in Newport News, Virginia. He was the son of the late Betty Clark and Clarence Adkins. Dan served as a Senior Chief in the Navy with over 27 years of service, and who worked for the city of Norfolk for over 15 years. 

He was survived by his life partner Oscar Willis of Norfolk; sister, Penny and her husband David Bedsaul of Newport News; daughter Alisa Adkins of Norfolk, son Christopher and his wife Shawna Adkins of Suffolk; five grandchildren, Danielle, Gwendolynn, Cameron, Arron, and Mckenzie; three great-grandchildren, Christopher, Kiyan and Zoe. As well as so many loved nieces and nephews. He will truly be missed.

Family will receive friends for the burial ceremony on May 6, 2024, at 11am at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, Virginia and will be officiated by Melissa Helm.
