Virginia Beach, VA – John F. Tighe, 62, passed away August 9, 2022. He was born in Norfolk, VA to the late Raymond J. Tighe, Sr. and Estelle B. Tighe. He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond J. Tighe, Sr. and Estelle B. Tighe.; brother, Raymond J. Tighe, Jr.; and sisters, Mary Frances and Elizabeth Ann Tighe.

John was a spiritual man and was baptized in the Episcopal Church. He was devoted father to his children, Johnathan B. Tighe and Lucas L. (Kathrine) Tighe.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Johnathan B. Tighe and Lucas L. (Kathrine) Tighe of Texas; brother, Charles Lee Tighe of Virginia Beach, VA and his sons, Ian Reed and Anton Marchenko; nieces: Summer Scullin and her daughter, Sienna, and Christine McWhorter (Mike) and children, Isabella and Ethan; aunts, Marilyn Tighe and Mary Elizabeth Howerin; and many cousins and friends.

Raised in Detroit, MI, John played hockey, football, and baseball. He loved to be around his friends and family and always had a fun time. He always had a smile and a kind word for anyone, whether he knew you for a long time or just met you. He was also a Friend of Bill W. for over 25 years.

After moving to Virginia in 1983 he pursued a career in heating and air conditioning (HVAC) as a service technician and service manager for over 30 years.

A memorial service will be held on September 29, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church, 1969 Woodside Ln, Virginia Beach, VA 23454.  Service will be streaming live through their website at www.allsaintsvb.org.  Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charitable organization of your choice.
