John Thomas Liverman, 83, of Chesapeake, Virginia, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023, with his family by his side. He was the son of the late Raymond Earl Liverman and Edith Mae Liverman. He was predeceased in death by his two brothers, Raymond Earl Liverman, Jr. and Marshall Lee Liverman.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Carol Brown Liverman; his son, Christopher Scott Liverman, and daughter-in-law, Nicole Liverman; three wonderful and beautiful grandchildren, Brodie August Liverman, Kellen Asher Liverman, and Kensingtyn Grey Liverman; and nieces and nephews.
Before he retired, he worked in the insurance industry for many years and later as a financial service representative.
He was a faithful Woodland Heights Baptist Church member, where he served as an ordained deacon for many years. His love for his Lord and Savior saw him through many trials and tribulations during his lifetime. He never met a stranger and enjoyed engaging them in conversation.
John loved sports and played basketball in high school and later softball for church and community leagues. He loved spending time with his family and having them for dinner.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Woodland Heights Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society. Many thanks to Trinity Hospice and a very special thank you to Tara Tisdale, his nurse, who showed John and his family such compassion and love.
Please join the family on Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 11 a.m. to celebrate his life at Woodland Heights Baptist Church, 529 Providence Road, Chesapeake, Virginia. Visitation and a reception will follow his service.
