John W. Coleman Sr. Jack, 88, of Virginia Beach went to be with the lord on April 12, 2013. Jack proudly served his country in the US Navy during WWII. He retired from Burton Lumber Co. He was a member of Courthouse Community UMC, the Southside Lions Club, and was an avid woodworker. After retirement Jack and Virginia moved to the Outer Banks, NC where they were members of Kitty Hawk Methodist Church. They had a wonderful life and circle of friends. His greatest pleasure was working in his yard, the view of the sound, and his children and grandchildren.
Jack is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Virginia F. Coleman, daughter Debra C. Brown and husband Walter C. Brown, son John W. Coleman Jr., and wife Jada G. Coleman, four grandchildren; Sean W. Brown Lauren, Julie C. Biller Mike, Kristen B. Smith Shannon, and John W. Coleman III Nicole, and five great grandchildren; Lily and Gavin Brown, Gray and Tanner Coleman, and Leighton Biller.
A Funeral service will be held on Tues. April 16, at 1:00 pm at Courthouse Community UMC. Memorial Donations may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association at http://www.alz.org/join_the_cause_donate.asp.
