Yorktown – Johnny S. Walters III, 71, passed away peacefully in his home on September 16, 2020, surrounded by his daughter, wife and his wife’s family. Johnny was born in Atlanta and raised in Buckroe. He went to Kecoughtan High School where he met his wife, Christine and they were married for 53 years.
He was a licensed land surveyor and owned Walters Land Surveying for thirty years, where he employed several family members and gave young aspiring land surveyors their first opportunity to learn the profession. He provided free surveys for Habitat for Humanity.
He is survived by his wife, Christine and his daughters, Michelle and Meredith; as well as brothers, Jeffrey and Donald; and a sister, Shirley. He was predeceased by his son, Jason.
The family would like to thank the caring and compassionate hospice nurses who cared for him: Danielle, Theresa, Paul and Deborah.
Cremation Society of Virginia is handling the arrangements.
