Dear Family, As you celebrate the life of your beloved husband, dad, grand dad I celebrate his life with you. My fondest memories as a child are at the joyful New Year's family celebrations we all shared together at Pepe and Chicky's house. Lots of great food, music and dancing with family! Manhattan beach times with you all was the highlight of my summers. All the family spending time together, laughing, eating all day long on the beach. My heart is heavy for you all in your loss. May the grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. May you all experience the God of all comfort like never before in your loss as He promises. I love you all dearly. Love Lulu

Grandpa/Welo Welo you will always be remembered!! Love your grandson, granddaughter and great granddaughter.
My Grandfather was a great man. So many memories will be cherished, by photos and stories. As the 1st of his grand-kids and the oldest grand kid, I can recall some very vivid and unforgettable times. Like when use to spend summers with him, had our many family vacations and trips to New York to visit. And most of all, his most favorite time of the year Christmas where he would always have 101.1 CBS FM playing the holiday tunes and who can forget when my birthday which is New Years, Dick Clack would be on the TV. The decorations would also be so vibrant, and extravagant that family would always talk about even now to this day and say remember that Christmas/ New Years party back in... where the music would be blasting and the fun was always there. As I grew up and then got married to my beautiful wife he was there. When My wife and I had our amazing and beautiful daughter, he had the privilege to hold her, hug her, and kiss her so gently that she would smile so bright and he always loved to call her his one and only great grand daughter because she was and she will always know him as her Welo Welo. I am so blessed that she will have the ability to remember him and have memories that will last a lifetime. I know he is at home in Heaven celebrating with his Mom and Dad my great grandparents, his brother my uncle, and many other family and friends that we have lost over the years. But one thing remains our Love for our family will always remain strong and I know we will see him again soon and can continue our celebration and play endless games of dominoes, sing and dance and party. Grandpa I love you. Dios Te Bendiga!!!

My second Dad Pepe- I will also remember when Vicky introduced me to her dad. He said to me “Hi I’m Pepe and I’m a Marine! I was intimidated a little bit, but I know that in time we would get to know each other. What a blessing it has been to have you in my life. It has been really hard for me these past few days, but I know that you are in heaven celebrating with your mom, Dad, Uncle Vic, TiTi Luz, and My Mother and father. I can see you all playing dominos. I will miss all the stories of Chemical Bank and your Marine story. I always enjoyed your company, taking the trip to the Naval Academy to see Joey and watch Army and Navy Football. I loved that you would play Christmas music in the summer and listen to your 50s music at all times. You were a Happy, Loving, Father to us all. I have been blessed to be part of this family for 40 years of my Life. I learned from you that family is always first. You had a good heart always willing to help the family. Thank you for being a great Grandfather to David, Diana, and Sophia. I will miss you tremendously, thank you for accepting me as your second son! I love you forever! Semper Fi Marine Melendez!

Tio you will be missed tremendously I will hold memories of you with dad at the house or grandpas house the family all together. Your now with dad, grandpa and grandma. I would always tell you when we meet your my favorite Marine and you always will be.
Dad, I'm so thankful God chose you to be my father. I have many wonderful memories of you taking Joey and me to south street seaport and eating clams as kids, going to Manhattan beach and having a great time with our large family, all the holiday gatherings and your YUCA pasteles! I so appreciate the time you took off to see me in my school programs, cadet corp parades/drill team and band competitions. I remember you making us homemade pizza and cherry cheesecake! You woke us up as if we were “marines!” Your trademark was listening to music and watching T.V. at the same time! There was never a quiet moment at the house. LOL
I recognize your good heart in always wanting the best for your family, and for always helping others in need. You challenged us and loved us fiercely. We always play music at the house, including Christmas songs all times of the year! I will always hold a special place for you in my heart. I will miss you very much. Love you forever! Your Vicky-boo
