Joseph “Joe” Boris, Jr. was born on September 29, 1958, in the vibrant city of Philadelphia, PA, and passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026, in Virginia Beach, VA, at the age of 67. Joe’s life was a testament to the power of kindness and the joy of living with passion and dedication.
Joe spent many years working as a Front Desk agent and auditor, where he became known for his warm smile and incredible storytelling ability. His colleagues and guests often found themselves captivated by his tales from his days in hospitality, each story more colorful and engaging than the last.
Though he only attended the Community College of Philadelphia for a short time, Joe carried a lifelong commitment to learning and personal growth. He was a die-hard Eagles fan, cheering passionately for Philadelphia sports teams and embodying the spirit of his hometown. Despite not serving in the military, Joe’s patriotism shone brightly; he was deeply proud of his country and always carried that pride in his heart.
To those who knew him, Joe was an all-around nice guy, a good friend, and a loving big brother. He had a zest for life that took him on countless travels and cruises, always eager to explore new places and meet new people. His adventurous spirit once even led him to appear in a commercial with Alex Askew, discussing diabetes and raising awareness.
Joe was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Joseph Sr. and Edna Boris, his cherished wife, Kathleen “Kathy” Neher-Boris, and his brothers, Danny and Anthony Boris. He is survived by his loving sisters, Colleen Pivoroff, Mary Ellen DeSimone, Patricia Boris, and their families, who will forever hold his memory close. Joe also leaves behind many dear friends who were touched by his generosity and warmth.
