Juan Lance Wright, a devoted servant of God and cherished member of his community, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025, in Williamsburg, Virginia, at the age of 66. Born on September 18, 1958, in Williamsburg, Juan spent his life dedicated to his faith, family, and the service of others.
A retired minister, Juan was known for his unwavering commitment to sharing the gospel and his love for leading worship with his beloved guitar. His passion for music and nature was evident to all who knew him, and he found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly home-baked cookies, which satisfied his well-known sweet tooth.
Juan was a proud Army veteran and a graduate of Elim Bible Institute, where he deepened his understanding of scripture and ministry. He was an active member of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he touched countless lives with his kindness, wisdom, and heartfelt sermons.
Preceded in death by his parents, John P. Wright and QuoVadis Wright; and brothers, Johnny Wright “Chip”, Shawn Wright “Boodeni”, and John Wayne “Baby”, Juan leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory. He is survived by his devoted wife, Ruth Wright, and their three children: Joanna Wright, Suzanna Wright, and Joshua Wright. His legacy of love and faith will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.
A memorial service to celebrate Juan’s life will be held on October 18, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Foundations Church, located at 5209 Monticello Avenue, Williamsburg, Virginia, 23185. Friends and family are invited to gather and honor the life of a man who gave so much to others.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Samaritan’s Purse (samaritanspurse.org), reflecting Juan’s lifelong dedication to helping those in need.
Juan Lance Wright will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and friend, whose life was a testament to his faith and love for God, people, and the world around him. May he rest in eternal peace.
