January 10, 1947 - January 14, 2024

Judy Ferguson, 77 passed away peacefully on the afternoon of Sunday, January 14^th, 2024 at Virginia Beach General Hospital with her son and two of her close friends by her side. Judy was born January 10^th, 1947 to Charles and Martha Clayton in Norfolk, Virginia. She was a graduate of Princess Anne High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia, Old Dominion College and Virginia Polytechnical Institute.

Judy had a healthcare career in medical records for over 20 years, while raising her son, before she retired early to do what she loved; living and working on the farm with her husband Bob. Her passions were showing her dogs, showing mules with her husband, taking care of her animals (and many strays), gardening, bee keeping and volunteering for countless charity organizations. She loved to cross stitch & crochet, catch up with close friends and meet up with the Bunco girls! She actively contributed to her church and her community.

In addition to being be predeceased by her parents, Judy was predeceased by her husband J. Robert Ferguson. She is survived by her son Scott Pollard as well as a host loving friends and relatives.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, January 27^th, 2024 at 12:00pm at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens, 524 Cedar Rd., Chesapeake Virginia. In lieu of flowers, please visit make a donation to the Chesapeake Humane Society in Judy’s honor.

I am so sorry to hear of Judy’s passing. I had always hoped to get back to Virginia to visit her again. I met her at Tidewater community College where we were studying health information technology classes from 1984 til we graduated in 1986. I enjoyed her sense of humor and treasured her friendship. We kept in touch throughout the years, often calling each other on our birthdays. Please accept my condolences! With sincere sympathy, Darlene Linder

Scott, I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m sure you know that there was never a dull moment when she was around. I met her years ago at the library, We both attended the Wednesday evening yarn group. We had great laughs which left great memories. Being I was from NewYork your mom always talked about loving those black and white cookies. So whenever I went home to visit I made sure that I brought her back a few. She did admit that she was NOT supposed to eat them and promised me that she would ration them out and eat them a little bit at a time. She will be missed by many.

Scott, I am sorry for your loss. I know you will miss your mom.

Judy was part of our Stained Glass group of ladies who used to meet out for monthly dinners. There was never a dull moment when around Judy with her witty sense of humor. Condolences to her Family.

Scott, I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. You’re in my thoughts and prayers.

Judy was feisty, practical, humble, a serial project starter (probably why we go along so well!) and an animal lover. She was an inspiration and a good friend. I have many happy memories of the adventures we had when she was a student and worked a the Virginia Tech Hampton Roads Agriculture Research & Extension Center. I am better for knowing her, and I will miss her.

Judy will be greatly missed. We had many good times especially going to OBX. Girls weekend and family vacations and Christmas Eve at your house. You were fiercely independent and resourceful. You talked me into me adventures and we always had a good time. Your love for animals was so important to you and you did so many things for strays & homeless animals that went unnoticed since you never tooted your own horn. Peace and love. See you on the other side.
