Julius Lawson Ward was born on July 11, 1963 to the late Phillip & Catherine Ward of Gloucester, Virginia. He was educated in the Gloucester school system & played varsity basketball in high school. Juke met the love of his life & his devoted wife at the young age of twenty-two.
Juke worked for the Department of Transportation for over twenty-five years. He was a hardworking family man who always went out on a limb to provide for his family. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren playing kickball, basketball, softball & a good old game of ‘jacks’ played on the kitchen floor.
Juke was always the life of the party. He enjoyed nurturing his garden. He would always plant enough fruits & vegetables to share with family members, friends & neighbors. Juke dedicated his spare time to working out at the Riverside Wellness & Fitness Center for years, always encouraging the youth to keep their bodies fit.
Those who knew him loved him.
Juke was always willing to help others. He was a devoted husband, father, papa, brother, uncle, cousin & friend.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories two daughters, Shada’ Wilson & Chiara Turner Randolph, six grandchildren; Kamry & Kamari Benson, Wunderly Wilson, Whitney Wilson and Amani and Amari Turner and one son-in-law, Timothy Randolph. He also leaves behind three siblings; Mary Ward, Phillip Ward & Holden Ward as he joins his late sister, Susie Ward in heavenly paradise.
