June Owens, 91, passed away Thursday, July 6^th, 2023, in Virginia Beach, Virginia surrounded by her loving family. June was born in Norfolk, VA on June 18^th, 1932, to Hunter Dean and Rose Downs Guess and had a brother, Hunter Dean.

A native of Norfolk, VA, June met and married the love of her life, William Owens, who was in the Navy and stationed in Norfolk.  The two married at Central Baptist Church in Norfolk and then moved to California where they raised 3 daughters, Cindy, Cheryl, and Terri.  For many years June worked as a receptionist for Technicolor studios, she and her husband later moved back to Virginia when they retired.  She enjoyed traveling, gardening, sewing, church, and spending time with her family.

In addition to being predeceased by her parents, June was predeceased by her husband, Bill and her daughter, Cindy Van Orden. Left to cherish her memory are her two children Cheryl and Terri; grandchildren; Tyler, Kaitlyn, Jordan, Austin, and Cierra and her 7 great grandchildren; Sienna, Mylan, Aiden, Lola, Tommy, Brixton, and Edison; and a host of extended family and loving friends.

A memorial service will be held later this fall at her beloved church Central Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to Central Baptist Church, 701 W Olney Rd, Norfolk, VA 23507 in June’s honor.
