Karen was welcomed into this world September 1960 by her parents, Joan and Donald Ange and her brother Donnie. She grew up in Virginia Beach, was a graduate of Bayside High School and attended ODU.
Karen achieved her “dream job” as a little girl to become a flight attendant. She remained a dedicated and accomplished employee of Piedmont Airlines, USAir, and American Airlines for over 30 years.
As the wife of a Navy Seal, Karen enjoyed residing in many locations. In each, she quickly became a trusted friend and was active in the community. She was a remarkable hostess, often making the most of even the smallest occasion.
As her experiences took her across the country, she maintained her close friendships through the years, sharing her kindness near and far.
Being an interior designer, Karen’s beautiful touches were shared in homes and public buildings throughout Hampton Roads.
During the years she resided in Pinehurst and Aberdeen, NC, Karen became a broker for Village Properties. Again, her life was shared with many cherished friends.
Karen is survived by her brother Donnie (Karen) Ange and their two sons Donnie Jr (Amanda), son Campbell; Beau (Heather),children Tripp and Pippa; cousin Michelle (Dave) Chaple, children Katherine, Sam, and Julia; Barbara Wolf, daughters Olivia and Ella; Rosemary (Keith) Tonili, son Kyle; Suzanne (Tommy) Simpson, daughter Teegan; Chuck Wolf and John Howard.
Karen was predeceased by her parents and grandparents Katherine and Jack Gandee.
Karen’s life ended much too early from a Parkinson’s-like disease, PSP. She was appreciative for her caregivers’ kindness and assistance during her last year.
Karen’s legacy is exemplified by the loyal friendships, her good deeds and generosity throughout her life. She was a beautiful lady, inside and out. We have lost a remarkable individual.
