Karen Dorothy Miller, age 50, passed away Friday, December 30, 2022. Karen was born and raised in Hampton, VA to William (Bill) Miller and Barbara Miller. Karen was preceded in death by both of her parents.
Karen was a graduate of Kecoughtan High School and also studied at Christopher Newport University where she majored in Accounting. Karen enjoyed administrative careers at NASA and York County Waste Management. Karen’s hobbies included bird watching, reading, listening to music, and enjoying time at the beach and in the mountains of West Jefferson, NC.
Karen was a gentle and kind soul who always put the interests of others before her own. Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Jeannine Forrest (Braden), Carla Cline, Kristy Matthews (Bill), and her twin sister, Kimberly Variano (David); and her stepmother, Gael Hawkins Miller; along with her nieces, Jennifer Martin, Heather Conway, Devon Variano, and Meaghan Matthews; her nephews, Denny Amato, Zachary Matthews, Tyler Matthews, David Variano, and Jared Forrest; and her great niece, Ashlyn Martin.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at 2:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses located on Little Back River Road, Hampton, VA. Karen’s strong faith as a Jehovah’s Witness sustained and comforted her. It was Karen’s request that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to jw.org in support of the preaching work.
