Banu, Karen I. “Ms. B”, 72, of Henrico, passed away on September 18, 2020. She was born and raised in New York. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Rose Walz and brother, Richard. She is survived by son, Christopher (Laura); daughter, Patricia Dumond (Marc); grandchildren, (Sophia, Madelyn, Thomas, Allison, and Megan); her twin brother, Glenn Walz (Ernestine); sister, Marlene Walz and several special nieces and nephews. Beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and loyal friend, she will be deeply missed. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and being a part of their everyday lives. Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to one of Karen’s favorite charities, March of Dimes, are welcomed. I’m so sad to hear this news. I worked with Karen in the cafeteria at Godwin High School. What a great addition to that staff. She always had a smile. I have fond memories of those days. Trish and Chris- so sad to hear of the loss of your mom. We all had such a strong bond when we were young families at St. Mary's. She will be missed- by family and friends, old and new. May her soul rest in peace and rise in glory!!

Tree and Chris I can’t imagine your loss, I am so very sorry. Not only was she my amazing Aunt, she is my Godmother. We have had a loving special bond. I always feel you and I have. TRISH & CHRIS I so sorry your mom lost her battle, she fought so hard. I will always remember the fun times we had. She will always be with you & your families. She loved her grands so very much as she did both of you and her family. May she be at peace. ♡♡♡♡
