Karey David Murphy, 64, of Hampton, Virginia, passed away on March 23, 2024.

He was born in Syracuse, New York on December 29, 1959. Raised in Kingston, Tennessee, he was preceded in death by his parents, Charles E. and Patricia E. Murphy and nephew, Daniel A. Bunch. Also preceded in his death were his great nephew, Blazer King Beaumia and sister-in-law, Valerie J. Murphy.

Karey was a locksmith and business owner. He graduated  Suma Cum laude from Roane County High School and was an  exchange student in Panama. He was a nuclear-trained MMs in the Navy and was a plank owner aboard the USS Roosevelt. He enjoyed basketball, walking, especially in nature and singing. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church and greatly enjoyed hearing the Word preached.

He is survived by his loving wife of thirty-seven years, Sharon Wren Murphy, two sons, Marshall Bandfield Murphy and  Clarke David Murphy, his siblings; Charles E.M. Murphy, Michael P. Murphy and Syndie Tarene, nieces; Jessica E., Amanda L., Emily M., Jennifer S. and nephews; Steven C., and Ryan A., along with several great nieces and Nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Sandy Bottom Nature Park 1255 Big Bethel Rd. Hampton, VA 23669 on Thursday April 18^th, 2024 at 5:00pm at the Lakeside Pavilion.
