Karl Roderick Arndt, 56, died peacefully on September 20, 2018, surrounded by family. He took with him an infectious smile showing big dimples, a wry sense of humor and a love of people and animals. Karl worked as a meat cutter/manager in several grocery stores in the area, the last being BJ’s in Chesapeake. He was also an accomplished photographer.
Survivors include his wife, Vivian Arndt; parents, Fred and Julia Arndt; brother, Lindsay Arndt and wife, Gretchen; sister, Erika Burkholder; step-son, Lawrence Watson and wife, Ann; step-daughter, Sophia Love; step-grandsons, Maurice and Soulen; nephew, Trevor Arndt; nieces, Mikaela Burkholder and Amber Roane; cousins, Christy Hearne, Dana Longest, and Bradford, Kevin and Kory Lindsay and further extended family.
Karl was preceded in death by his grandparents, C. Alton and Mary Lindsay and Fred and Ruth Arndt.
A service in Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 29, 2018 at First United Methodist Church of Hampton. Dress is casual in blue.
