Karl W. Ginnow
Virginia Beach – Karl W. Ginnow, 98, passed away on August 1, 2015. He was born on July 29, 1917 in Omro, WI to the late William and Mata Ginnow. He was preceded in death by his two brothers and wife of 75 years, Lorraine A. Ginnow.
Karl graduated from Omro High School in in 1935. He and Lorraine successfully operated their 324 acre farm in Omro, WI for almost 40 years. He also worked as a tool and die maker at the local stamping company and was a volunteer fireman for 25 years. In 1977, they sold their farm and moved to Youngtown, AZ to build and operate their 70 unit Sun Valley Apartments complex. They retired in Sun City, AZ in 1990 and moved to Virginia Beach in 2008 to be closer to their son.
Karl was always active in their local Presbyterian churches. He enjoyed working in his machine shop and was always ready to offer a repair or help to a neighbor. He was also very active in the C.A.R.S. Club of Sun Cities, frequently showing their 1930 Model A Ford and 1910 Sears Motorbuggy. Karl lived a very happy and fulfilled life and was respected by everyone who was lucky enough to know him.
He is survived by his son, William K. Ginnow and wife, Kathleen of Virginia Beach; one granddaughter Suzanne Becker and husband, Tristan of San Francisco; and many nieces and nephews.
