Katherine lived a full life, savoring every minute while fighting the brain tumor that eventually won the struggle over the past few months. She cherished her family, her many friends, and her animals, especially her horse, Birdie. A travel agent by trade, (visiting everywhere from Thailand to Iceland), she was also a sailor, an equestrian, an avid ODU basketball fan, a tennis player, and an inspiration to all of us who loved her. She overcame the odds for the last 13 years with her will and determination. We will miss her spirit and optimistic outlook on life.

Heartfelt thanks go to Dr. B. J. Purow and his team at UVA Medical Center and to Mandy Kanarr for her excellent care during these past weeks.

There will be an opportunity to share good stories and memories of Katherine on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at 516 North Street, Portsmouth, Virginia from 2-4pm.
