Kathleen Cope, 49, passed away on February 27, 2022. She was born to Michael Scott Hallas and Cynthia Wilson.
Kathleen graduated from Tartan High School in Minnesota. She joined the Navy and served for 10 years as an Aviation Maintenance Administrator, even serving overseas in Italy. Her Navy career brought her to Virginia Beach, where she worked for Canon ITS for 17 years. She also volunteered for the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad for 15 years, becoming a certified EMT, and working with the Administration Support Team and Bike Team. She was an alumnus of Saint Leo University where she earned her Bachelor’s and recently her Master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in healthcare management.
Kathleen loved the beach and swimming in the ocean. She loved nature and truly loved animals. She has the biggest smile and the biggest heart. She was loved by so many.
Left to cherish her memory are fiancé, Charles Masek; father Michael Hallas (Judy); son, Adam Friar; daughter, Cheyenne Cope; granddaughter, Sky Rain; and grandson, James Brandon.
Kathleen’s memorial service will begin promptly at 12:00 noon on Monday, March 28, 2022 at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery at 5310 Milners Road, Suffolk, VA 23434. The family asks that those in attendance arrive early.
