Katie would light up a room with her awesome smile. So nice to people. She was an awesome first responder and her love for the Chesapeake Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad continued when she transition over to their support team. Simply the best.

Katie was a beautiful person. Both inside, and out. She be friended me last year. Because , we had so much in common. This picture of her, and I, was the last time I saw her. It was at her last birthday party. The last time I spoke with her, was when she was released from the hospital. We all thought that she was on the mend. But, she is now up with God in heaven. Her pain, and suffering are now over. I have faith, that I will see her again one day. She will forever be in my heart.

My heart moans and missing Katie is overwhelming right now. We worked together for 10years. I witnessed her triumph over life's trouble and health challenges. I didn't expect to lose her so soon. I can say she was a great friend and joy to be around. Even when we disagreed, she was good at offering an olive branch! I could not stay mad. She also reminded me of the movie star Melanie Griffith.. which I told her often. Katie if you are reading my words forgive me for not being there to the end. Thank God you had your rock Charles! Praying for the family and friends who are also feeling this deep loss.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
