Kathleen Patricia Potter, affectionately known as Kathy, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, in Chesapeake, Virginia, at the age of 94. Born on November 2, 1930, in East Hampton, Long Island, New York; Kathy lived a life dedicated to her family and filled with love, adventure, and cherished moments.
As a devoted homemaker, Kathy prioritized her life around her husband and family, nurturing a home filled with warmth and kindness. Her commitment to her loved ones was unwavering, and her gentle spirit will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Kathy had a passion for travel, particularly enjoying the serenity and excitement of cruising. Her love for exploring new places was matched only by her enthusiasm for friendly competition, as she found great joy in playing Scrabble and Dominoes with friends and family.
Preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Delia Mott, her beloved son, Keith C. Potter, Jr., and her son-in-law, Terry Riley, Kathy’s legacy of love and strength continues through those she leaves behind. She is survived by her devoted husband of an extraordinary 72 years, Keith Potter, Sr.; her loving daughter, Paula Riley; and her cherished granddaughter, Erin Babcock, along with Erin’s husband, Robert; great grandsons, Logan and Henry.
Kathy’s life was a testament to the power of dedication and love, and her memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to those she touched. Services for Kathy will be held privately, in accordance with her family’s wishes.
In remembrance of Kathy, her family asks that those who knew her celebrate her life by recalling the joy she brought to others, her passion for exploration, and the deep love she had for her family.
