Kathy “Kate” Rodabaugh, 73, of Hampton, VA, passed away on 03/10/2023 after a courageous battle with cancer. Kathy was born in Pennsylvania, on 04/19/1949, and grew up overseas in Saudi Arabia under the care of her father who worked for Aramco Oil. She was a skilled sailor and took trips around the world with her family on their sailboat, visiting many different countries. She then returned to the states and went on to attend Gettysburg College, earning degrees in both Education and Psychology. She began her teaching career in Pennsylvania and then moved to Virginia to teach in both the Virginia Beach and Norfolk public school systems. Her passion for teaching and helping others touched and inspired many. She was generous with her time, talent, and would give the shirt off her back to help another. She enjoyed volunteering, biking, and long walks at Fort Monroe with her beloved dog Maggie. She is survived by her husband, Arthur Rodabaugh; daughter, Arla Joyner (James); and her two granddaughters, Sky and Anna. A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date to family and friends.
