I'd like to send my condolences to the family of Mr. Simonis. I did not know him very well, but I certainly developed some rapport with Keith in the past 2 years. As the community maintenance man I had opportunities to stop by his residence and provide services as needed. I've always been fascinated with learning things about people, especially from my elders. Once I took the time to get to know Keith I realized that he was a man who valued his experiences and cherished his memories. Although Keith seemed like a grumpy old man at times, I felt he was genuine and enjoyed my company and the many conversations we shared. My father also served in Vietnam and unfortunately I did not get the opportunity to really appreciate his service to our country. Sure enough, Keith and my father were similar in several ways. I definitely had a great deal of respect for the guy and I'm glad to have met him. Rest peacefully Mr. Simonis. God bless you and your family Sir.
