Kenneth Ray Ingram, Jr., age 57, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away December 17, 2019.
Ray was born in Portsmouth, Virginia, to Kenneth Ray and Beverly Ingram, Sr. on November 17, 1962.
He is survived by his mother, Beverly Ingram Hutcheson and step-father, Joe Hutcheson; his wife, Laura and his children, Kenny, Lindsay, and Matthew; siblings, Tom Barker, Sally Ingram McDaniel, Melissa Ingram Fitcher; six nieces and nephews, Adam, Nathan, Wesley, Natalie, JJ, and Karly. He was predeceased by his father, Kenneth Ray Ingram, Sr.
Ray owned and operated The Head Shop beginning in February of 2001. He was a Master Machinist and engine builder for over 40 years.
He will always be remembered as a loving son, husband, father, brother, friend, and a man of great faith.
He loved nature and in his free time, he enjoyed spending time at his property in Boydton, Virginia, as well as biking at False Cape State Park with his wife, Laura. Ray enjoyed boating, fishing, mudbogging, and spending time with family and friends around a nice fire. He was also a die hard Atlanta Falcons fan.
Ray loved nicknames. If he cared for you, you had at least one.
He always had a kind word, humor, and wisdom to share. He would give you his undivided attention regardless of what was going on around him.
He believed in helping others without recognition; he considered it tithing.
He loved deeply and was a beautiful soul.
A memorial service will be held on December 28, 2019 at Altmeyer Funeral Home – Southside Chapel. It is located at 5033 Rouse Drive, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462. The service will begin at 2pm.
