Kenneth (Ken) Hayes, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at Hospice House of Williamsburg, VA.  Ken was a lifelong resident of Carlsbad, graduating from Carlsbad High in 1953. He moved to Virginia in 2018 to be closer to his daughter and family. Ken had a long career in real estate and was a broker for several different agencies. In his spare time you could find him on the golf course playing his favorite sport. He and his wife loved traveling to different professional golf tournaments to watch their favorite players.

Ken is survived by his wife of 70 years, Loretta, his daughter, Cheryl Hayes (Jerry Ortiz), and son Mark Hayes, MD.  He has four grandchildren Kassandra Balest (Eric), Ryan White (Lilian), Sarah Hayes, and Sydney Hayes. He has 11 great grandchildren: Aidan Bradley, Avery Bradley, Aubrie Bradley, Megan Balest, Rylie Balest, Isaiah Richey, Elijah Richey, Jack White, Evelyn White, Sophia White and Savannah White.
