Kenneth Wayne Johnson (Kenny Wayne), 73, of Suffolk, Virginia, passed on Friday, May 30, 2025 while peacefully sleeping in his home.

Born October 30, 1951, he was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Suits, father, Linwood Johnson and younger brother, Steven Johnson.

Kenny was born and raised in Suffolk, VA. He was enlisted in the United States Marines for 6 years. Kenny moved back home after his military experience and worked at Suffolk Iron Works as a crane operator and shop foreman for nearly 30 years. Kenny was a hardworking family oriented man with many ties to the Suffolk community.

Kenny is survived by his son, Shane Johnson and daughter in law, Caitlin Johnson; grandkids, Trinity, Ethan, Aubree and Brady Johnson; great grandsons, Kas and Cairo; his son, Aaron Johnson; granddaughter, Brittany Johnson; great grandsons, Cayden, Benjamin and Conner; his brother, Tommy (Buck) Johnson and wife, Julie; niece, Crystal Masters; nephew, Steve Johnson; and countless other cherished family members and friends.

A service with USMC  military honors will be held on June 23, 2025 at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milners Rd., Suffolk, VA 23434 at 3:00 pm sharp.  Following the service, there will be a repass for family and friends at the Kings Fork Community House, 1600 Kings Fork Rd., Suffolk ,VA 23434 at 4:30 pm.
