Kevin Lloyd Rogers, 63, of Chesapeake passed away unexpectedly on January 2, 2025, at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center.
Kevin was originally from England and worked in the coach tour industry for many years before heading to America in 1991. He worked for a brief time at British Promotions in Norfolk before beginning work in the HVAC industry. Kevin worked for Cii Service of Virginia for nearly 20 years before having to medically retire due to Parkinson’s Disease.
Kevin earned an A.A.S. degree from Tidewater Community College in 2010 in Electromechanical Controls Technology. He graduated Summa Cum Laude and was a member of Phi Beta Cappa honor society.
“Kev” was a wonderful, gentle man. He wasn’t one for being a big talker, but when he was in the mood, he could have those around him rolling with laughter. He enjoyed everything about computers from building them to programming them to watching videos on them and participating in HVAC forums. He loved spending time with his wife for whom he was immensely supportive in her teaching career. He also loved the Saturday nights he got to spend with his favorite ladies, chilling at home.
Kevin met the love of his life, Susan, in 2000. They had a beautiful life together, traveling in the United States and abroad, hosting family events, and doing pretty much anything his wife wanted! Kevin and Susan married in 2004 and spent the next 20 years making wonderful memories. He became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2009.
Kevin also leaves behind a host of family in England: his mother, Pauline Rogers, a brother, Graham Rogers (Andrea), and a sister, Sarah, six nieces and nephews, and three great-nieces and a great-nephew. He was predeceased by his father, Peter Rogers.
Some of the special ladies in Kevin’s life who will miss him greatly were his “Saturday night” crew: his sister-in-law Christine Wheatley, his niece Sydney Wheatley, and his wife’s cousin Brenda Bishop. More recently, he enjoyed time with Carol Fields as part of the crew. Kevin loved when everyone got together. He greeted Christy with “Hello Sunshine,” and Brenda with “Hello Baby Doll!” as they came in. He loved the company and the conversation so much.
There will be no public service for Kevin. A small, private get-together will be held to honor him. It is what he wanted. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Kevin’s name to the American Parkinson’s Disease Association may be made.
