Kirk Raymond Joynes died unexpectedly on January 16, 2024. He is survived by his wife, Andrea Roehrs, and their two children; his mother, Linda Aten Joynes; his sister, April Joynes Edeny, and her husband, Jeffrey; two nephews and a niece; and his brother, Cooper Joynes. He was predeceased by his father, Walter Cooper Joynes.

Kirk was born on November 2, 1972, and graduated from Kempsville High School. He worked as an electrician and a water treatment plant operator. Kirk was a surfer, an artist, and an outdoorsman who made his mark on everyone who knew him. He will be greatly missed by his family, his colleagues, and his wide circle of friends.
