Larry Paige Sprouse, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026, in Chesapeake, VA, at the age of 77. Born on November 1, 1948, in Richmond, VA, Larry lived a life full of love, dedication, and cherished memories.

Larry proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy, from which he retired with honor. Following his military service, he embarked on a career as a truck driver with Spartan Transportation, where he was known for his hard work and reliability.

In his leisure time, Larry found joy in playing pool billiards and was an enthusiastic player of Texas Hold’em poker. He and his beloved wife, Shirley, shared many fond memories traveling to Dover Downs, indulging in their mutual love of gambling and each other’s company.

Larry is preceded in death by his cherished daughter, Tina Marie Sprouse; parents, Charles and Josephine Sprouse, He leaves behind his devoted wife of 26 years, Shirley Sprouse, who stood by him through life’s journey. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Tommy Spivey, Robert Strickland, Holly Strickland, Tammy Thompson, and Stephanie Reese; his grandchildren, Gracie Strickland, his “motor scooter”, Matthew, Christopher, Joey, Jamie, Mia, Renee, Christian, Tommie Jean and Thomas; and his siblings, Debbie, Cookie, Larry, Mike, Syd, Tommy, Trisha and Ricky. Each of them will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.

Services for Larry will be private, offering a moment of reflection and celebration of his life among those who held him dear.
