Lauren Nicole Martin
Chesapeake – Lauren Nicole Martin, age 14, received her wings on 3 October at Portsmouth Naval Hospital surrounded by family and friends.
Born in Biloxi, Mississippi, she was the youngest daughter of Byron and Cristy Martin. She attended Hickory Middle school (as a Home Bound Student), was a Girl Scout with troop 606 and was a member of Providence Presbyterian Church.
She enjoyed paranormal movies, The Ghost Whisperer, Elvis music, MTV, Cinema Cafe, and camping trips with her family. She will be remembered for her GIANT personality, her ability to teach everyone who crossed her path, her passion for life’s most simple pleasures, and her strong will. She enjoyed spending time with her parents, siblings, grandparents, friends, nurses and pets.
She is survived by her parents, Byron and Cristy Martin of Chesapeake, brother Zachary Martin, age 22, of Southaven, Ms., and her sister, Cierra Martin, age 16, of Chesapeake, Grandparents, Brenda Patton and Pat Patton of Akron, Alabama and Cynde Hall of Virginia Beach, Great Grand Parents, Donna Smith of Darby, Montana and Jim and Sue Loeffler of Palm Springs, California.
A memorial service will be held on October 24th at 2:00 pm with reception to follow at Providence Presbyterian Church on Providence Rd in Virginia Beach.
