Lawrence (Larry) Richard Pike passed away on December 16, 2022 in Virginia Beach, VA. Larry was born October 29, 1948 to Albert W. Pike and Grace Holsinger Pike. He was a graduate of Simi Valley High School, Simi Valley, CA.
Larry served in the United States Navy as an Ordnance Mechanic from May 1968 until May 1972. He spent the next 40+ years designing food service spaces and other components for the U.S. Navy, working with various sub-contractors (CDI Marine, Northup Grumman, Earl Industries, Miller Precision Manufacturing & Integration and Fairlead Integrated). He was an avid reader, loved listening to “old time rock and roll”of the 60’s, including the Beach Boys, the Beatles and Jimi Hendrix, to name a few.
He was preceded in death by his father, Albert W. Pike of Hermiston, OR; his mother-in-law, Lila Reid Mowry of Waynesboro, VA; his sister-in-law, Mary Reid Fox of Waynesboro, VA, and brother-in-law, Delma S. Overby of Mt. Airy, NC.
Larry is survived by his wife, Frances Reid Pike of Virginia Beach, VA; his mother Grace Pike of Hermiston, OR; his sisters, Patricia Wagner and her husband Doug of Echo, OR, Wanda Young and her husband Dennis of Klamath Falls, OR; his brother, Martin Pike and his wife Denise of Spokane Valley, WA; his brother-in-law, Thomas Fox of Huron, OH; his sister-in-law, Susan Overby of Mt. Airy, NC; his brother-in-law, William Reid and his wife Gayle of Waynesboro, VA, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
