I am so sad to hear of Lee Roy's passing. We grew up together, went to school together and had so many happy memories. We lived a mile from each other. Our mothers, Hazel and Ann, would take all of us kids to the landing which was close to our house. We would spend hours crabbing and fishing. Then we would come home, cook the crabs and have a feast. Such fun. I used to walk a mile to his grandmother's house so she could teach me how to make rag rugs. I loved the time we spent together and learned so much about older people from her. Lee Roy always wished he was taller. He didn't need to be taller. He had a heart the size of Texas. There were so many times he helped my father with his tractors and mowers. On our last phone call Lee Roy caught me up on so many of our classmates. He knew everybody. I will mis him. His wife, his brother, Dicky, and sisters Frances and Serena (named by my Mom and after my grandmother), are in my prayers and thoughts.
