Leonard Coy White, Jr., affectionately known as Coy, Jr. or L.C., passed away on March 2, 2024, in Virginia Beach at the age of 89. He was born on September 29, 1934, in Amherst County and spent his childhood in Pleasant View.
Coy dedicated many years of his life to serving in the Civil Service in Norfolk, VA, and also proudly served in the Marine Reserves in the early 1950s. An avid outdoorsman, he found solace and joy in hunting deer and turkey at his beloved family home, fondly named The Camden House.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Janet Terry White, and his brother, Harry Camden White. Coy is survived by his daughter, Jody White Forrest; grandson, Jeremy Elliott; great-grandson, Casey Elliott; brother, David Bruce White; his longtime companion, Louise McKee; and special friend, Raleigh Novak.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Camden House in Pleasant View, Virginia, on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 1:00 pm to honor and remember Coy’s life. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Chesapeake Beach Volunteer Fire and Rescue.
