Lillian L. Lucas – Virginia Beach
Lillian L. Lucas, 83, passed away February 23, 2011. She was born on May 6, 1927 in Quincy, MA where she met and married Robert R. Lucas, her husband of 55 years who preceded her in death in 2002. She is survived by four children; Robert L. Lucas and wife Cynthia, Ellen M. Lucas, Lawrence R. Lucas and wife Holly, and her beloved and devoted daughter Tracy E. Edwards and husband Glenn. She was the proud grandmother to five grandchildren; Christopher Kepics, Alexis Hunley, Jason Lucas, Amanda Edwards, and Mary Lee Edwards; one great-grandson, Braylon Hunley and a special friend of 41 years, Gayle Fudge.
She resided in Norfolk for 49 years where she raised her family and worked at Central’s Drug Store for 9 years. She moved to Chesapeake in 2003 and for the last 3 years resided at Pacifica Senior Living. She was well known and loved for her willingness to take anyone into her home and treat them like family. She surmounted the many challenges she faced in her lifetime, and will always be remembered for her thoughtfulness and devotion to family.
She was an avid Elvis fan for many years and a talented artist leaving behind numerous books of her drawings. The family would like to thank her doctor of many years, Armistead William M.D., and the staff at Pacifica Senior Living for all the special care given to their mother. She will be reunited with her husband through a burial at sea by the United States Navy. A memorial service will be held at the home of her daughter, Tracy Edwards, on March 5, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. for family and friends to celebrate her life.
