Linda Fisher Rose was born February 21, 1945 in Portsmouth, Virginia and passed away on April 8, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Linda was a graduate of Cradock High School and Old Dominion University. She was a gifted registered nurse, having received recognition as Virginia Public Health Nurse of the year. Caregiving was her passion and she was always ready and willing to help others.
Linda was a faithful member and volunteer of Northside Christian Church. Her favorite hobbies included tennis, golf, travel, and the beach, but she cherished spending time with her family most of all.
Linda is survived by her daughters Robyn Rose Gatling and Crystal Rose Winfree, four grandchildren Kristyn and Corey Gatling and Lilianna and Violet Winfree, as well as close friends Linda and Mackenzie Barnett and Thomas Byrd. Linda’s departure leaves a huge hole on earth but creates a bright spot in heaven.
A memorial service will be held at Northside Christian Church, 1300 George Washington Memorial Highway, Yorktown, VA on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 1pm.

I have so many good memories of Linda. Working with her at the health department, our annual "girls' trip" to the OBX, and a Red Sox baseball game in Baltimore that she and T attended with my family. I will cherish all of these memories and celebrate the joy that Linda brought to my life and the lives of all those who loved her. Her rest is well-deserved for she fought long and hard. You, her daughters and sons-in-law, grandchildren, and T, were the light of her life. All of you will remain in my thoughts and prayers. God bless you and give you peace.

Dear Family Linda touched so many hearts with her gift of giving. The memories of the many seasons we worked together will fill my heart with smiles for the angel that now has her wings.May God comfort you during this difficult time.

I only knew Linda for a couple of years, but in that short time I saw her passion for other people, her selflessness and her heart for the Lord. She will be surely missed.

On behalf of the Lynk/Routzon family, I offer up my heartfelt prayers and love to all of Linda's family and friends upon hearing the news of her death. May the Lord bless each of you with all the comfort, courage, strength, and discernment needed to see you through this chapter of change and grief.

My sympathy to Linda's family on her passing. When I first moved back to the area, I started playing spring / summer tennis at Huntington Park. Linda was my first partner. She was a good tennis partner - kind , helpful and showed me the ropes. She will be remembered fondly.

My heart is heavy to hear about Linda. I worked with her for many years. God blessings to you and your family she will truly be missed.
