Lisa B. Gergel was born in Norfolk, Virginia on December 1, 1968. She passed away on December 5, 2019. A loving mother and homemaker (until the past few years), Lisa was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, most especially over the holidays. For many years leading up to her passing, she spent her days making things for her grandchildren (bibs, burp cloths, blankets) and working for the DoD as a guest services employee for MWR.

Lisa touched everyone’s heart so deeply no matter how long they knew her. A kind, caring, and compassionate woman, the best anyone knew. Lisa truly had a heart of gold. Her family describes her as the most selfless mother, wife, and friend. Words are not enough to share how much we love her, and the kind of woman she was.

Lisa was predeceased by her loving husband of 32 years, Steve J., Gergel. She was also predeceased by her four children, Steven Gergel and his wife Christina, Ashley Gray and her husband, Brian, Alexandra Gergel, and Nicholas Gergel. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Emerson Gray, Oliver Gray, Sophia Holley, and Charlie Gergel.
