It is with profound sorrow that our entire family announces the loss of its beloved Matriarch, Lois Welch Drometer, 89, who passed peacefully Saturday, August 13, 2023 at the Williamsburg Landing with her daughters and family by her side.

Lois was born in Hastings, Minnesota on November 28, 1933. She was a consummate homemaker, wife, and mother. She enjoyed bridge, tennis and traveling with her husband and family. Lois always sported a beautiful tan from her time at her beloved beaches in Myrtle Beach, Mexico or and other travels. Everything Lois did in life was defined by a quiet and loving elegance. Cooking for her family was an expression of her love. Christmas was not complete without her special cookies and baked goods.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert George Drometer and her son, Jeffery George Drometer. She is survived by two beloved daughters; Nancy Mowry of Gloucester, VA and Lisa Hollifield of Leland , NC. Lois’ legacy includes seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She will be missed but always a part of everyone she touched in this world.
