Lois Poth – Chesapeake

Chesapeake — Lois Poth, 74, passed away peacefully on Nov. 20, 2010. Lois called St. Petersburg, Florida home until 2008. She then spent a year living with her son in MA and the past year in VA to be close to her daughter. While in VA she resided at Cedar Manor Assisted Living in Chesapeake where she was often seen sitting out front enjoying the sunshine.

She was predeceased by her parents, Louis & Elizabeth Anderson, her brothers Charles and Robert, her sisters ‘Sis and Betty and her beloved husband Robert. Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Robert and wife Julie of Tampa, FL; Gregg and wife Donna of Hansen, MA and daughter Suzanne Lavin and husband Jim of Chesapeake, VA along with eleven grand children and one great-grandson. She is also survived by her sister Rita Erickson of CA.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or charity of donors choice.

A memorial mass will be conducted at St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 1505 Kempsville Rd, Va

My Condolences to the family. May the wonderful memories of Lois bring the family comfort at this most difficult time. Rest in peace Lois, you are now with your beloved Bob.

Growing up, she called me "Gramma's Boy". I always knew that no matter what I did wrong as a child, I was still "Gramma's Boy". I believe there was nothing she loved more in this world than her grandchildren. As an adult, I attend numerous events in Downtown St. Petersburg, and my office is walking distance to the Pier. Each time I'm there, I can't help but stop and smile as I remember our bus trips downtown together. Whether it was gardening, spending the day at the beach and eating her wonderful ham-salad sandwiches, stopping by Christmas stores she had the most amazing collection of Christmas ornaments, or watching Wheel of Fortune together, every moment with her is a memory I will always cherish. She will be greatly missed.

WE were so sorry to hear about Lois. My mother, Eleanor Naeher, sat at her table at Cedar Manor. Your mom was a gentle person and was interested in our baby who was born premature. She smiled when we visited. She would sit outside even in the hottest of weather. We send our condolences to you all. Eleanor is now at Lake Taylor and misses Cedar Manor very much. I just found out today about the passing of Lois. I'm so sorry to hear of her illness and passing. I will always remember her. We had a lot of good times with her and Bob when they lived in Pittsburgh. We extend our deepest sympathy to Bob, Suzanne, and Greg and their families. Dave & Sandy Andracki Doernemann
