Loretta A. Wathen, 79 of 2300 Stable Road passed away peacefully on January 9, 2011 at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an active member of the Cape Henry Women’s Club and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her spouse, William of 55 years; daughter Beverly and spouse Pete; her grandchildren Joanna Marie and Casey John; also three grand-dogs Chipper, Baxter and Miller. Also, survived by Theresa Bohns, Miss Rose, Patricia Clason, Mr. & Mrs. Robert Kropp, Mr. & Mrs. Mike Wathen and family; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the compassionate care she received at SVBGH. A sincere thank you to Dr. Cajulis, Dr. Dobbie and the entire staff of the step down unit and our extended family on 4 East.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. A memorial service will be held Thursday January 20, 2011 at noon, St. John the Apostle Church, 1968 Sandbridge Rd.Virginia Beach, VA 23456. Visitors are welcome following the memorial service at the home of the family.
