Lorraine Marie Moyer passed away peacefully at her home Jan. 30th, 2011 at the age of 53 with her children and sister at her side.
The second of four children, Lorraine was born in Kodiak, Alaska Sept. 18th, 1957 to a military family and was preceded in death by her father Lawrence H. Metivier of Corinnia, ME and her brother Lawrence E. Metivier II of Parksburg, PA.
Lorraine attended Haverford High School in Havertown, PA from 1972-1975. She proudly served in the United States Navy from 1975-1979. She raised her 3 sons in Chesapeake, VA and was Front Desk Administrator for Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce for 11 yrs until her retirement in 2010.
Lorraine is survived by her mother, Shirley A. Metivier of Warrensburg, MO. 3 sons, Carey J. Malec of Chesapeake, VA, Sean M. Malec USAF of Wright Patterson AFB, OH and Robert L. Moyer III of Chesapeake, VA.; her 2 sisters, Lorna J. Slifer of West Chester, PA and Lora H. Pressly of Warrensburg, MO., and a myriad of nieces and nephews who will all miss her more than words could ever say.
Our family would like to extend our appreciation and thanks to all of Lorraine’s friends and neighbors for all of their care and support. In honoring her wishes there will be no formal service. Rather, in lieu of flowers, she asked that memorial donations be made in her name to the Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Foundation. www.copdfoundation.org
