Louise C. Goldman
Virginia Beach – Louise C. Goldman, 85, passed peacefully away in her sleep at her residence at Norfolk Sentara Nursing Home on June 23, 2013. Louise was born and raised in New York City, NY to Mair and Rachel Azriel Cohen who both preceded her in death.
Louise was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Va. Beach Auxiliary #3204 for over forty years during which time she served in most officer chairs including Madam President. She was especially involved with the Ritual and served multiple terms as Madam Conductor. She also served in many committees on the State level and in the Eastern Regional Auxiliary that preceded it. Louise was an active and award winning member of the Princess Anne Plaza Garden Club for many years. She had a true green thumb and spent many happy hours working in her yard with flowers and plants.
Louise leaves behind her beloved son, Michael of Palmdale, CA, and her daughter, Lennie of Virginia Beach, as well as her son-in-law, Bobby, and grandson, Jonathan of Virginia Beach, granddaughter, Melanie Chapman of Madison, GA, her husband, Parish, and three great-granddaughters, Yakira, Adaira, and Joanna, and her sister, Riquetta of Berkley, CA and brother, Mitchell of NYC, NY, and much loved nieces and nephews. The family would also like to give thanks to the nursing staff of Sentara Nursing Center for the special care they gave Louise during the time she resided there.
An Eagle memorial service will be held on Monday, July 8, 2013, at 7:00 P.M. at the Eagles’ Club located at 1061 Newtown Road in Virginia Beach, VA. There will be a reception afterwards. Burial will be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the F.O.E. Alzheimer’s Fund or to other Alzheimer’s Charities.
