Virginia Beach- Madison Kelly Deans Jr, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away in his home, surrounded by family on Monday, 7/23/2018 after a long battle with cancer. He had a long full life at the age of 87.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Taylor Deans of 64 years and his children, Madison, Mark, Mary Alice and Melody. Also he is survived by four grandchildren, Zev, Riki, Jarad and Casey. He was preceeded in death by his grandson Bradley. Kelly was also survived by his brother Raymond Patrick Deans and baby sister, Carol Coston.
Kelly lived a long and active life after his birth in Belhaven, N.C. as his family soon moved to Norfolk where he resided until 1969. After moving to Va Beach along with his young family, he continued to be active in Naval Reserve, his church and many charitable organizations. He was involved with the Odd Fellows, Lions Club, Granby Alumni, Meals on Wheels, Nartu and Providence Presbyterian Church.
He also was a life long Baseball fan, Boating enthusist and was a private pilot sharing a small plane with his son Mark.
After a long and storied Naval Reserve career of 42 years, he retired as a CWO4.
He continued to be active and engaged with his Chuch and Chartible Organizations until passing.
Kelly was a compassinate and happy person who loved animals as well as all the people he came in contact with.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, 7/28/18, @ 2:00P.M. – Providence Presbyterian Church, 5497 Providence Rd in Va Beach.
