Suffolk, VA – Madonna Rayetta Black, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026, in Suffolk, Virginia, at the age of 63. Born on October 29, 1962, in Baltimore, Maryland, she lived a life marked by dedication, service, and faith.
A proud graduate of Paul L. Dunbar High School in Baltimore, Madonna went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin. Her commitment to service was exemplified by her time as a Veteran of the United States Navy, where she served her country with honor and distinction.
Madonna’s professional career was spent in Customer Service with Military Uniform Service, where she was known for her unwavering dedication and kindness. Her work was a testament to her strong character and her desire to support those who serve.
A woman of deep faith, Madonna’s life was guided by her spiritual beliefs, which provided her with strength and comfort throughout her journey. Her faith was a source of inspiration to all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, James Steward Black and Anna Christine Sims Black. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Anthony Lamar Hogan, and his mother, along with her children, siblings and extended family, and her fur babies who will forever cherish her memory.
The family will hold a private celebration of Madonna’s life in Maryland at a later date. The Cremation Society of Virginia, Chesapeake Office, is assisting the family during this difficult time.
