Margaret Elizabeth Smith passed peacefully surrounded by her favorite people on Oct 9, 2024. She was born Margaret Elizabeth Bell in Yarraville, Victoria, Australia on March 22, 1941 and was known to her many friends and family as Maggie.

Maggie was preceded in death by her parents William and Dorothy Bell, her two brothers John and Robert Bell and sister-in-law, Joanne Smith Tilling. Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 57 years, C. Anthony Smith, daughter Kerrie Smith, son Anthony Smith and his wife Lauren and her treasured grandchildren – Barrett (wife Paige), Kylie, Kyle (wife Emily) and Michael, and one great-granddaughter Sabrina. Maggie is also survived by many nieces and nephews, two lifelong friends, Julia and Cliff, and numerous other close friends. She has been a member of Gateway Church for 45 years, where she found a home and a second family.   She was very active in her church and found great joy being a part of everything.

A loving mother, grandmother and friend, she will be sadly missed.

A memorial service will be held in her honor on October 26^th at Gateway Church at 3:00 p.m. at 5473 Virginia Beach Blvd. Virginia Beach, VA 23462. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.
